Terms of Service

1. The service

VahanOS registers vehicles you submit, checks their status against publicly available information, detects changes and notifies your systems by signed webhook. We work only with information that is publicly available and never modify any source records.

VahanOS is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any government authority. We do not warrant that information reflects any official source at a given moment.

2. Accounts and access keys

You are responsible for your workspace, user logins and API access keys, and for all activity under them. Keep keys confidential and notify us promptly of any suspected compromise.

3. Acceptable use

You must have a legitimate, lawful basis to monitor each vehicle you submit, and you are responsible for how you use the information we provide. You must not use VahanOS to profile, track, harass or make decisions about individuals, to resell the data as a standalone product, or in any way that breaches the rights of others or any applicable law, including data-protection law. Do not misuse or attempt to disrupt the service.

4. Fees and billing

Fees comprise a flat monthly platform fee plus a per-vehicle rate for each Vehicle Month a vehicle is actively monitored, as set out on our pricing page. Charges are billed monthly in arrears. All fees are exclusive of GST, which is applied at the invoice level. You only pay for Vehicle Months that have started.

5. Data

You retain ownership of the vehicle records and contact details you submit. We process that data to provide the service, and we preserve each check as an immutable record so you can audit the status we reported on any day. VahanOS is designed to minimise personal data, and we do not sell data. Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Service availability

We work to keep the platform available and reliable, and run a self-healing pipeline that retries transient errors. Availability and accuracy of underlying public information depend on systems we do not control.

7. Confidentiality and security

We treat your data as confidential, host it on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure in India, and take automated backups. We will not sell your data.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

9. Term and termination

Either party may terminate on notice as agreed in your order. On termination, monitoring stops and billing ceases for any Vehicle Months not yet started.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to account owners.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
